Accelerated Reader (AR) Level
There are four main book leveling systems used in schools across the country are Lexile, Fountas & Pinnell (Guided Reading), DRA, and Accelerated Reader (AR). When we initially made our leveled list, we had to pick two of these systems to base them on, so our book sets are based on the Fountas & Pinnell (Guided Reading Levels) & DRA Leveling systems. Unfortunately, at this point, we do not have sets specifically for Lexile or Accelerated Reader.
However, if your school uses the Accelerated Reader (AR) system, our lists can still be helpful to you. The chart below shows the Guided Reading lists that correspond with each grade level (and thus AR range).
IMPORTANT: These books are not officially Accelerated Reader books. The links below take you to books that are at the EQUIVALENT level in the Guided Reading/DRA reading systems. If you are buying a set intending to use the books as Accelerated Reader books, you will need to make sure that the books have quizzes to go with them. Some do, some do not. As our sets are created with Guided Reading /DRA systems in mind, our sets often include some books that do not have AR quizzes.
